Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid

Two months of waiting finally paid off! The official Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Hybrid news is out!

The hybrid X1 promises smooth switching from one platform to another! It packs in a dual-core Qualcomm CPU and a custom base Android OS kernel on its motherboard. There are integrated Intel graphics in a 13-inch (1366 x 768) Gorilla Glass display with a brightness of 350 nits. It will feature Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.

The  low power Instant Media mode promises to stretch X1’s battery life  by switching Android when Windows 7 and main Intel Core series CPU are asleep. Using the Android OS here is little different to the usual experience: you can’t access the market, so no app downloads!  The OS boots in seconds and the launcher looks a lot like Idea Pad K1.

With a starting price of $1,599, the X1 is set to hit the markets by second quarter this year.
