If the rumors are true we will see the Android 5.0, code named Jelly Bean, as soon as next quarter!

Limited details available suggest that Jelly Bean will feature improvements made to the current OS. Optimized for tablets, Jelly Bean is said to integrate Google Chrome system functions for dual operating system.

So, from what we hear Google is pushing Jelly Bean (JB) to mobile devices to go pass problems in Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) and to complement Microsoft Windows 8.

As this is all rumors talking some believe that JB won’t come anytime soon as ICS is still slowly spreading into phones and tabs. But Google is known for back to back product launching and they might do just the same this time around!

Nearly four minutes of gritty, high octane, visceral action are unleashed in this video trailer for Sleeping Dogs™, a martial arts/maximum machismo cop drama set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong.

As the blades and the bullets fly, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a trailer for a new Andy Lau Infernal Affairs film: It seems to have the same tension, quality acting and action, not to mention the claustrophobic yet cinematic location of Hong Kong. But do a double-take- this is a game not a film!!

Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with Square Enix studios, London, Sleeping Dogs will be available in the second half of this year for the PlayStation3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

You want the plot? Under cover HK cop Wei Shen, is tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organisations from the inside… the Hong Kong Triads. Not much at all then…

The advert says: “As players explore the bustling and crowded Hong Kong island, through its neon-lit side streets and sprawling street markets, an incredible story unfolds of loyalty and betrayal, where Wei begins to question his own motives as he is sucked in deeper than he could ever imagine.”

While the video concentrates on what you would see on the screen, and that is brutal and beautiful at the same time, one wonders how the game will play in reality. It says it has openworld gameplay, and a myriad of manoeuvres to take your opponents down.

The locations include seedy street corners, menacing market-stalls, low-down docks and sky-high skyscrapers. These become the scenes for intense shoot-outs, street races, martial arts combat, and use of some particularly nasty weapons, such as meat cleavers, kitchen knives, pans of boiling oil, and circular saws. Not for the faint-hearted, and that is why this video has an 18 certificate.

So returning to the video, it’s clear from this that the game promises adrenaline-fuelled action all the way. But it may put you off cooking a stir-fry or going into the kitchen to see how good the hygiene is in a Chinese Restaurant! You have been warned!

The Fujitsu tab offers a 7 inch WSVGA touchscreen of 1024 x 600 pixels  resolution and weighs 420 grams with a body of 14mm thickness. The handy device promises quick booting and multi tasking too. One of its unique features is that it allows users to choose from three character inputs such as numeric keypad, QWERTY and hand writing using a stylus!

Other related info includes built-in Wi-Fi and blue tooth connectivity, mini HDMI to connect to external displays, 512MB of RAM, and battery life about 6.1 hours

With the stylistic M350/CA2, Fujitsu aims to carve in to the business users as the new slate permit a variety of enterprise apps ideal for business presentations, retail business displays etc.

The tab will hit the Japanese market for ¥34,800 or $454.

As LG plans to unveil the A 290 phone in Russia this month, analysts say that this could provide a tough competition for Nokia as their dual SIM devices are highly popular with the Russians.

The news is that Apple will out two models of the iPad 3, that is, a Wi-Fi only model and a 4G model (possibly LTE). The blazing A6 processor will definitely be there to support full touch screen HD display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Equipped with this quad-core processor, iPad 3 will be the fastest iOS device!

The iPad 3 will feature a new and improved sleek design which is much thinner than the iPad 2. The device is set to include a lighter, long-life battery as well. Other features include iOS 5 and 3D retina display as well. According to Apple retina display is “Developing pixels a mere 78 micrometers wide. Apple engineers were able to pack four times the number of pixels into the same 3.5-inch (diagonal) screen found on earlier iPhone models.” Apple claims that it makes text and graphics look smooth and continuous at any size.

Meanwhile, the Japanese blog Macotakara reveals that Apple will hold a media event in February but the actual iPad 3 launch will be in March!

Car manufacturer Nissan has integrated its advanced vehicle manufacturing technology to an iPhone case which can stand scratches. Made of an ABS plastic shell with a Polyrotaxane-based paint layer, the case mends itself by a chemical reaction.

So how is it done? The polyrotaxane in the paint react to any damages like scratches or cuts on the surface and the gel-like flexible coating fills the gap. Then the chemical structure is back to its original state. According to Nissan, a small graze will take about an hour and a deep cut will take at least a week to heal!

This is not the typical fancy iPhone case either. It has a grippy texture unlike the usual glossy finish of other cases. But it protects what matters, your iPhone in its pristine look!

Nissan hopes to take the prototype to Europe this year!

Launched in May 2009, the app was developed by Google developers at Pittsburgh.  The big announcement came along with the shutting down of several other Google services like Picnik, Urchin, Needlebase, Google Message Continuity and the Social Graph API.

The Google Research Blog said “Today, we are delighted to announce that we are going to share Sky Map in a different way: we are donating Sky Map to the community. We are collaborating with Carnegie Mellon University in an exciting partnership that will see further development of Sky Map as a series of student projects. Sky Map’s development will now be driven by the students, with Google engineers remaining closely involved as advisors.”

Google Sky Map displays the sky map of the area the device faces, using the Android phone’s compass, GPS and clock. The app is Android only for the moment!

The Idea Tab S2 10 inch version packs in Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich and 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon 8x60A or 8960.  Sporting a 1,280×800 LED backlit IPS display, the S2 has front facing 1.3 Mp and rear 5Mp cameras with auto focus.  With a 64 GB memory, the S2 10 inch slate is said to be one of the thinnest (thinner than Asus Transformer Prime) and the lightest. It weighs 1.3 lbs with a 0.34 inch  thick chassis.  The Tab also includes other features like WiFi, 3 G and HDMI.

The normal battery life is approximately 9 hours which could be extended by adding the keyboard dock for $200. The keyboard dock comes with add-ons like secondary battery, keyboard and touchpad, card reader, USB 2.0 ports.
